Innovation serving performance and sustainability In a context where technical and environmental requirements are constantly evolving, 1.4 mm polypropylene (PPL) coating stands out as a breakthrough solution for protecting and enhancing wood-based panels. This technology combines the best qualities of wood —lightweight structure, mechanical strength and ease of machining — with the advanced properties of polymers: waterproofing, chemical stability, easy maintenance and long service life. Unlike thin films or traditional impregnation methods, the 1.4 mm PPL facing forms a true technical skin — thick, uniform and directly bonded to the plywood substrate.
The result: a watertight, durable and reusable panel, engineered to withstand mechanical, chemical and climatic stress while remaining fully recyclable.
POLYPROPYLENE SURFACE COATING

Our industrial process allows the application of 1.4 mm PPL film to a wide range of substrates:
Birch plywood: high density, rigidity and excellent load-bearing performance.
Poplar: lightweight and easy to handle, ideal for mobile applications.
Okoumé, pine, beech or special wood-based composites: suitable for outdoor, marine or decorative uses.
Thanks to a cold-press bonding process, the bond between the wood and the polypropylene film is achieved at ambient temperature, under controlled pressure, using high-performance adhesives compatible with thermoplastic materials.
This method preserves the integrity of the plywood, eliminates any risk of warping or thermal delamination, and ensures uniform, long-lasting adhesion across the entire surface.

Thanks to advanced fire-retardant impregnation, the plywood offers long-lasting protection by significantly improving its reaction-to-fire performance without compromising its mechanical properties.
The product has been tested by an accredited laboratory and classified in accordance with EN 13501-1, achieving fire reaction classes Bfl-s1 and B-s1,d0, which ensure limited fire contribution, low smoke emission, and no flaming droplets. Fire-retardant plywood is available in Birch, Alder, Poplar and Pine, allowing flexibility in design and application.
